What started as a Maddy’s final bachelor trip, ended like a wrong turn!

We were four buddies of totally different style and yet enjoyed every office scrap together.
Soon I was moving out of the team and our best buddy Maddy was getting married. So at the pantry, our Chintu suggested for the last trip of NXg Techies. All were enchanted and Goa was a natural suggestion. We were ready unless we heard Moneypenny’s opinion. As expected this lean fellow had the biggest issue. Suggested Pondicherry instead. His explanation was beyond imagination. MoneyPenny rationalised that he had already seen all the temples in Goa and now wants to see some Matri Mandir in Pondicherry . For the first time in our life… me, Maddy and Chintuwere were on same page. We just wanted to put three bullets each in his bump. Finally on one fine Friday evening, all four agreed for Pondicherry. Maddy’s last bachelor wish was ‘I wanna swim with Non Indian Fair Beauties’. Oooo La la… Heard a comment ‘International relations play important part in world peace’. Humm….. Quite True (There is a shaitan in all of us). Even Moneypenny gave a silent nod to this motion.
It was for the first time that a machine would run parallel to my machine. I had always done solo and a ride company is new to me. Once again on a friday night, my house was transformed into club-casino. Just that this time Google Maps was given more importance than our beloved Beluga. For the next two hours, MoneyPenny focussed on the shortest route from Bangalore to Pondicherry . By early next morning, four men on two machines were on national highway no. 7.
Now there are three routes from Bangalore toward Pondi. These are:
1). NH66
2). NH4 – Via Vellore . Perfect for those who have a crave for Ambur Biryani !
3). Bangalore – Tirupati Highway
Let me give a brief intro about these routes.
NH4 is quite nice and you and worth a ride. Distance will be around 350 kms.
East coast road is also an option but we avoided that for no reason.
NH66-Apparently the shortest with a distance of 312 Kms on maps is maintained mostly by Transauthority and not by NHAI. My fellow riders can now understand the road conditions. Please avoid this at all cost. This is designed to test your riding endurances. Irrespective of your bump size it will endorse a huge pain. You need a high quality Lumbar belt, Iodex and God gifted patience. Not recommended for cruising. The road is good enough to kill your charm midway. Read my story to get the feel of a night mare.
So, the band of four bad boys stated on Saturday morning. Since I live near Marathalli, Outer ring road was an easy option. Cruising with morning breeze, soon it was Silk Board junction from where NH7 becomes the electronic city toll road is a rider's delight. After zooming for nearly 10 min, it was time to pay toll tax. It seemed like a way to buy tickets for the journey ahead. Soon, we found Biocon and Narayan Hridyalaya on our right. After a while a small arch that bids you bye from Karnataka and another one that welcome to neighbouring TamilNadu. Next was Hosur. While crossing Hosur, it was all chaos with people roaming on the roads all over the place. Anyways, roadside eateries were a nice hangout as tea here was quite good. We took a small break and rolled on. The city wise pattern is:
Hosur
Krishnagiri
Uthangarai
Chengam
Tiruvannamalai
Gingee
Tindivanam
Pondicherry
The twist was waiting at Krishnagiri. A rider needs to take the right side road to leave NH7 and join NH66. If anyone is planning that please take local advice as with many highways joining in Krishnagiri, its easy to loose track. Eventually our story took the first hit at this terminal. We lost track and took a wrong turn. Continued moving for the next 30 min just to discover that we were in the middle of nowhere. It was high sun and appetite was growing. Was just lucky enough to find a state government hotel. The moment we entered there it was a split decision as we saw a bar and a restrau. The pillions were high for 4 botal vodka and the riders for simple food. After the brunch, the gang was ready to ride on, just to find Maddy’s rear tyre is puncture. Opps! We were at a wrong road with a puncture machine. Next 2 hours were spent to search for a shop and get it rectified.
If you are ever on this highway, then you are cursed. It is your sin which has taken your body and soul on this path. Why….because

a). The roads are narrow at most places.
b). The gravels simply jumps on the road.
c). With slight rain, its mud all over the place.
d). No food joint or cafe for long durations.
e). Pathetic road potholes.
The finest part of the curse was that there was practically no road near Tiruvannamalai. At one place we found a huge pit nearly 10 feet wide and we had to take off road. Off road means taking your machine through baren land and agriculture fields. Till Gingee don’t expect even a cup of tea on road side. Once you are near this city things will become a bit easier as gravels will stick to roads and not come out of it. Somehow we managed to stay alive and reach Pondicherry Cross. Its like an elevated junction and would lead you towards Pondicherry . The Unniversity would welcome you and roads were comparatively better. It was midnight moon when we stepped in the city. Most of the hotels were booked and we kept on searching for the next one hour. We once even thought of laying on the beach and sleep there for the night. When we reached near to the beach, the locals suggested that our beach sleeping idea is not a good thought. Sale ko… dinbhar to waise hi lagi pari thi … raat katne ko baalu bhi naseeb na hui. Anyways, somehow we managed to get a hotel. Oops this was a heritage one. The suite offered was a huge and has cultural fragrance of Franco Indian civilization. Putting us in that room was like adding hot Sambhar on Italian Pizza. Honestly we did not like this idea and opted for rooftop ones.
Next morning we headed towards Sri Aurobindo Ashram. It was more like an spitural visit for an hour and then proceeded towards Matri Mandir. This place is nearly 25 kms from main city and destination was Auroville. The compound is designed for world peace and spiritual upliftment. Hell…I never understood why we were there. Anyways the sun was high and we were really off. Finally, headed back to hotel.
Once we parked our machines, the gatekeeper came to us and simply said ’SirJi, the pub is now open’. Sale ko…Do we look like piyakkars ? Anyways, we simply went there. We relaxed, chatted, tasted sea food, smelled fine spirits and turned the place like our musical class. That was the finest part of the trip. No sun, no tension, just chill. We were the only four there and being amiable with waiters, the entire pub was vibrating.
By the evening we were back on our machines and headed towards pondi beach. It was a real chaos and feeling the sea breeze was nearly impossible. We could not understand from were this population arrived. Anyways, me and Maddy were sitting on sea side stones and thinking…

kaha gaya humara French fantasy trip.
Le de ke samander kinare ek pathar hi naseeb hua.
Chalo Sale ko...Abe huva khao !
Jindagi ke raste biking se jyada ajeeb hai.
